Counting Sheep: 6 Tips and Tricks for a Peaceful Night

I struggled for a long time with falling asleep. I could have a hectic day but I'd suddenly feel wide awake when I tried to sleep with my mind overwhelmed by thoughts. Waking up in the middle of the night only added to my frustration. Tired of feeling worn out due to lack of quality sleep, I decided to prioritize healthy sleeping habits. With a few changes, I finally started getting the restful sleep I needed.

1. Starting a ROUTINE, this can be journaling, drinking a cup of tea, reading your favorite book - put the cellphone away.

2. Drinking a cup of tea - Some of my favorites to try are Traditional Medicinals Tea Nighty Night and Pukka Night Time, Organic Herbal Sleep Tea. These assist with helping me start the winding down process.

3. Lemme Chill Gummies by Kourtney Kardashian, THESE ARE AMAZING! If you can find them, grab them. ( I just ran out and have been on a hunt for more ). This helps with my overthinking at night and is a life saver.

4. Reading - A few books I highly recommend reading are written by Ryan Holiday and in my opinion his books can really open up your mind and leave you feeling fulfilled by the end. A few I recommend are, The Obstacle Is The Way, EGO Is The Enemy, The Daily Stoic (Just finished this one!), and Courage is Calling.

5. Journaling - Pick out a cute journal that really speaks to you along with some easy glide pens and don’t forget the highlighters to really add some color to your pages. Can also be a drawing journal!

6. White Noise - I love a white noise machine, they are relaxing and life changing. The brand I recommend is the Hatch just because I purely LOVE my Hatch and all the sound settings it comes with, but if you are on a budget I recommend using the standard amazon sound machine. I started out using this one and upgraded to my Hatch during Christmas!
