Microneedling Stretch Marks at Home: My Honest Routine + Products That Actually Work
If you’ve been struggling with stretch marks and feel like nothing is working, I get it 🤍
Between hormones (hello, PCOS), weight fluctuations, and postpartum changes, stretch marks can feel impossible to fade.
After trying so many things, I finally found a routine that actually made a visible difference microneedling at home.
Today I’m sharing my full routine, the exact tools I use, and how I safely microneedle stretch marks for smoother, firmer skin 👇
What Is Microneedling & Does It Work for Stretch Marks?
Microneedling uses tiny needles to create micro-injuries in the skin, which triggers:
Collagen production
Skin regeneration
Improved texture and elasticity
For stretch marks, this helps:
Fade discoloration
Smooth texture
Make them less noticeable over time
💉My At-Home Microneedling Routine (Step-by-Step)
Step 1: Sanitize EVERYTHING
Cleanliness is non-negotiable.
What I use:
Alcohol wipes
Gloves
Chlorhexidine Solution
I wipe down:
My skin (Chlorhexidine solution & alcohol)
The microneedling device
Any tools I’m using
(This prevents irritation and breakouts.)
Step 2: Prep Your Serum
I pour my serum into a clean mixing bowl so everything stays sanitary.
What I use:
Hanheal PRDN Booster Serum
This serum is amazing for:
Skin repair
Hydration
Boosting collagen results
Step 3: Microneedling Process
Tool I use:
Dr. Pen M8S Microneedling Device
How I do it:
Apply serum to the area
Work in small sections
Glide the pen evenly (don’t drag or press too hard)
I focus on:
Stomach
Thighs
Hips
Tip: Start slow and don’t overdo depth if you’re new. However, for stretch marks it is recommended to use 1.5mm to 2.5mm. 2.5mm is typically recommended for deeper stretch marks.
Step 4: Soothe + Repair
After microneedling, your skin needs serious hydration + calming.
What I use:
Dermaheal Vitalizing Mask
CO2 Lift Glow (a bit pricey so I only use this on occasion, if you can afford it, it’s WORTH IT)
This helps:
Reduce redness
Speed up healing
Lock in moisture
Microneedling Aftercare: What to Do the Next Day + Week
What you do after microneedling is just as important as the treatment itself. This is when your skin is healing, rebuilding collagen, and absorbing everything you put on it.
The Next 24 Hours (CRITICAL)
Your skin will be more sensitive, slightly red, and warm this is normal.
Do:
Keep skin clean and hydrated (avoid HOT baths/showers)
Use gentle, fragrance-free products (no fragrance is important!)
Reapply a hydrating serum (like your PRDN serum)
Drink LOTS of water
Avoid:
Sweating (no workouts)
Tight clothing rubbing the area
Touching the treated skin
Makeup or self-tanner on the area
Days 2–3: Hydration + Healing
Your skin may feel:
Slightly dry
Tight
A little textured
This is part of the healing process!
Focus on:
Deep hydration
Skin barrier repair
What to do:
Continue using gentle cleansers
Apply hydrating serums daily
Use soothing masks (like the Dermaheal Vitalizing Mask)
Wear loose, soft clothing over treated areas
Days 3–7: Protect + Support Collagen
Now your skin is actively rebuilding collagen (this is where the magic happens)
Do:
Apply SPF if area is exposed (VERY important)
Keep skin moisturized
Stick to simple skincare (still recommend fragrance free until fully healed)
Avoid:
Harsh exfoliants (no scrubs, acids, or retinol)
Sun exposure/tanning
Picking or scratching the skin
My Go-To Aftercare Staples
Hydrating serums (like your PRDN booster)
Soothing sheet masks
Gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer
SPF (if exposed areas like stomach/thighs are in the sun)
Important Aftercare Tips
Do NOT microneedle again too soon (4-6 weeks)
If irritation occurs, pause active products
Results take time don’t rush the process
When Will You See Results?
Consistency is key.
From my experience:
Week 1–2: Skin feels smoother
Week 3–4: Slight fading
6+ weeks: Visible improvement in texture + color
Important Tips (PLEASE Read)
Microneedling is powerful—do it safely:
Always sanitize tools
Don’t microneedle over irritated/broken skin
Avoid sun exposure after
Space sessions (every 2–4 weeks)
Stay hydrated + support skin from within
My Honest Thoughts
Microneedling has been one of the only things that actually helped my stretch marks especially combined with the right serums and consistency.
For my PCOS girls (and postpartum mamas 🤍), this can be such a confidence booster when nothing else seems to work.
